REPYourACT

3 May

D.R.E.A.M.

Remember the story about young Abigail?

Won the crowd over in her County’s Annual Talent Show Exhibition with her performance of the late Billie Holiday’s God Bless the Child!
Well……She had the Dream of Being a GREAT notable Entertainer.
It wasn’t because she had many people around her that were of influence (in that area) but her God-given gift to bring joy to everyone she encountered (through song, dance and occasional impersonations of characters from the 80s’ TV Show, Dynasty). Her imagination was quite extensive!
The only 2 problems Abigail faced was not having the vehicle to get her where she needed to be and her friends/family had little to no knowledge of who to contact that could potentially assist her in this expedition. Though her obstacles stood out like a sore thumb, she maintained a “Regular” job while continuing to be a refreshing burst of Energy and never losing sight of her Dream!

Destined. Resilient. Empower. Advocate. Motivator.

A meager description of modern day Abigail; Actress Lauren also known as Lauren Hunt simply wouldn’t take NO for an answer! To her, it wasn’t enough to recommend to the people she cared so deeply about- ‘to get a regular job’. Lauren knew she wasn’t alone and desperately wanted to help others’ live their dreams. Thus, answering the call to Be the Matriarch and voice for youth in the land of Entertainment.

Actress Lauren, being a native of Mobile, Alabama, later became a residence of Atlanta, Georgia for 17 years. She’s also an educator having a considerable amount of experience in the areas of Private and Public School Sectors. In which she soon discovered the need for Arts and her compelling vigor to commit to such an assignment.

Actress Lauren would often be approached by parents of youth as well as other mentors, expressing their interest in entertaining or how they- themselves might go about contributing to the Arts. Although Lauren didn’t have all the answers, she remembered encouraging nuggets her mother would share; “Seek God to make the Vision Clear” or “Practice Makes Permanent”. After experiencing a few personal (seemingly) set backs of attempting to establish herself in the industry; Lauren realized
the answers she sought God for- was already in her possession!

THEN THIS HAPPENED****HOTT THEATRE For CHILDREN

Actress Lauren had made good on her child hood dreams! She earned a BA in Theater at Auburn University and after wards served numerous roles in Stage Plays. This gave her the fortitude to birth Hott Theatre for Children. On August 2014, Cobb County, Atlanta GA Film Industry would never be the same. Hott Theatre was the beginning of something Radical!

Not only had Actress Lauren accomplished goals for herself, but she was in the position to plant seeds among every young boy and girl who ever emulated characters on TV or had a colorful imagination- that needed steering.

Actress Lauren filed previous conversations and effortlessly made Hott Theatre for Children answer the need of each child- no matter the creative facet. Hott Theatre provides such an astronomical platform giving voices to all Youth who have a passion in Theater, Music, TV/Film, Model, Host and Much More. Not only is it geared towards the Arts; Hott Theatre pays much focus on preparing youth for public speakings, auditions, branding and interviews.

Actress Lauren has welcomed other industry professionals to share their craft with Hott Theatre and has partnered with various charities in and around the city of Atlanta.

“Your Reputation is Everything in the Film Industry,” says Lauren. She goes on to paraphrase quote the late Dr. Maya Angelou, ‘people will forget what you say/do- but Never how you make them feel’. She is humbly proud of being trusted to lead and even prouder to see such dedication from her students. No words can give justice to the love she pours into the lives of these children.

Many are zealously paying it forward, looking to make their mark in the world. In such a small amount of time Students of Hott Theatre for Children have relentlessly been in pursuit of their acting and music careers. Films such as Birth of a Nation, Almost Christmas, Fixation, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life, and All Eyez on Me don’t even scratch the surface of opportunities they have been graced to appear in! In addition to TV/Films and Stage Plays, some have lead and made cameo appearances on National Commercials and others have produced their own Music and Videos. There is No Box that can hold Hott Theatre for Children! And……..just when you thought you had an idea of what would be next for them; Actress Lauren introduced an extension of her previous vision: Rep Your Act!
